Special Parent/Child Shabbat Program
A special Parent/Child Shabbat Program for students in Gan - Gimel will be
held Saturday, February 11th from 10:30 - Noon. Gan - Gimel students and
their parents are invited to learn Shabbat songs under the leadership of
Young Judea teens. You will join Rabbi Jaffe in Jr. Congregation where
each parent will be called to the Torah for a" learning aliyah". Services will
end in the sanctuary with closing prayers. Kiddush to follow.

Rummage Sale

Volunteers needed!
The Annual Sisterhood Rummage Sale will be held on Sunday, March 25th
and Monday, March 26th. We need your help and any time you can spare
will be gratefully accepted and appreciated. We need volunteers to
organize rummage throughout the week, come to the Rummage Set-Up
gathering on Saturday evening, March 24 and volunteers to help during
the actual Rummage Sales to assist individual buying items and
straightening tables. If you are able to help out please contact either Lois
Gross or Dale Rothfeld.

It is a fabulous way to send our friends and family good wishes to let them

SISTERHOOD ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP APPEAL
Whether you are a long-time Sisterhood member or new to the area, we
welcome you to join the Sisterhood for an exciting 2012! We are a friendly
and dynamic group of women in different ages and stages of life with
various backgrounds, interests, and needs who all share a desire to be a
vital force in the life of our congregation. As members of Sisterhood, we
each have meaningful opportunities to participate in synagogue and
community projects together. We facilitate much of the social life of the
synagogue, celebrating holidays, and life cycle events.
Of course, Sisterhood is also about fundraising. We provide vital financial
support to the synagogue on an ongoing basis. Our organization proudly
funds special Hebrew school and FJCC programming, scholarship awards
for college-bound high school seniors, and makes contributions to the
synagogue General and New Building funds. Your support through dues is
a tremendous help as we strive to meet our goals. To take it a step further:
your volunteer efforts, participation and attendance are extremely valued
components in the success of each program. There are so many diverse
opportunities to be a part of our success. If you haven't joined yet this
year, please fill out the Membership Form below.and return it to the office.

SOULS4SOULS
Olive Klieman is collecting sneakers for Souls4Souls, a charity that collects
and distributes shoes to people in need. Shoes are often required to
attend school and in developing countries children without shoes are
unable to attend. Also many serious health conditions can be absorbed
through feet, even through the toughest soles. Shoes will help prevent
children and adults from getting and infections that result from being
barefoot. In honor of Olivia's Bat Mitzvah project they ask you to donate a
new or gently worn pair of sneakers in the collection box outside of the

Jewish Disability Awareness Month
February is Jewish Disability Awareness Month, presenting the
congregation with an opportunity to become even more welcoming for
people with disabilities. THE FJCC Sisterhood is supporting the goal of
becoming a fully accessible congregation by organizing fundraising
activities to support the purchase of a hearing loop system. A hearing
loop system will allow people of all ages with hearing impairments to fully
participate in services. Eileen Schwalb is chairing the fundraising drive
and seeks volunteers to help support her efforts. To help support this

Woman of the Year Brunch
Volunteers Needed!
We are in the planning stages for the annual Woman of the Year brunch.
The date is Sunday May 6th. To ensure another terrific event, we need
your help with the following:
Food and Social Hall: Help plan the menu and decorations, set up the night
of the event, and clean up when the event is over.
Vendors: Help find vendors to attend the day of the event.
Invitations: Design and create invitation and coordinate mailing.
Gift Baskets/Raffle Items: Solicit donations for gift baskets/raffle items:
volunteer to assist the person coordinating this effort
Entertainment: volunteer to plan, coordinate, and procure entertainment
The annual brunch is an enjoyable event, and one we know is always as
much fun to plan as it is to attend.
