Behavior and Discipline

BEHAVIOR AND DISCIPLINE
The Hebrew School at all times tries to provide a supportive atmosphere that
makes learning about Judaism an enjoyable experience.  While the teachers
must insist upon a certain amount of order and decorum in order to teach, they
try to give students sufficient latitude to express themselves and “just be kids” at
the end of a long day at school.
Under no circumstances, however, will disruptive or disrespectful behavior be
tolerated.  Any student who consistently displays uncooperative, recalcitrant
behavior will be disciplined in the following way:
1.        The student’s teacher will speak privately to the student about his/her
behavior.  If that fails,
2.        The student will be sent to the school director or the Rabbi.  If there is no
change indicated,
3.        The parents will be called and asked to take appropriate action.  If
discipline problems persist,
4.         The student will be asked to leave the school.
